Pre- and Early Elementary School Literacy Programs, Summer 2007

This summer, Raging Knowledge will offer fun and interactive programs for young children. Each program, described below, will help build a foundation for success in school by focusing on the 5 most important elements for age-appropriate language development.

I. School Readiness Program (pre K and Kindergarten)
  1. Rhyming, blending and segmenting sounds
  2. Matching sounds and letters
  3. Alphabet formation
  4. Reading and writing stories
  5. Story appreciation


II. Reading Enrichment (Grade 1)

  1. Phonemic awareness
  2. Decoding
  3. Vocabulary
  4. Reading fluency and comprehension
  5. Writing skills

Sessions are two weeks (10 classes) in length and begin on the following dates: July 15, July 29 and August 12
